"Seeing Into the Brain" - Neurogenisis is when you make new brain cells. For the first time humans have watched a living human grow these cells!! The discovery was made by researchers at Stony Brook University using hightech magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In Germany, reserachers have developed a new technique to see the entire neural network of a mouse brain in 3-D.
"Finding Ovarian Cancer Early"-Symptons of Ovarian Cancer can be vague and there is no early screening test. That is why 15,000 woen die from it each year. Now scientists have found a simple urine test could change all that. Researchers have found that the level of a protein in urine called Bcl-2 is ten times higher in women with Ovarian Cancer than it is in healthy women.
"An Artificial Lung"- Robert Barlett, MD, a University of mIchigan progessor and his team have now developed the BioLung which is an artificial lung. This new device uses the heart rather than mechanics to pump blood, so the patients can stay active at home instead of being sedated and hooked to a machine in the hospital. - lilymu May 20, 2008
